Whale watching in Sri Lanka is really popular, and each of those locations offers something unique.

In Mirissa, you can spot blue whales and sperm whales, especially during the peak season from November to April. The waters around Mirissa are known for their deep-sea richness, making it one of the best spots for whale watching.

In Kalpitiya, on the west coast, you can find both dolphins and whales, including the rare blue whale. The best time for whale watching there is from November to April as well.

Then in Trincomalee, on the east coast, you can see blue whales and even sperm whales, typically from May to October. Trincomalee is also known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant marine life, making it a great all-around destination.
